The event is not the whole story
Both tools care about events. The disagreement is what an event is for.
In PostHog, an event is part of analytics. Workflows lets you act on it. In Vero, an event is part of a messaging timeline. Campaigns can use that timeline to decide what to send next.
When PostHog Workflows is cleaner
If the event already exists in PostHog and the response is simple, keep it there. This is especially true for one-off nudges, Slack alerts, webhooks, and product operations.
When Vero is cleaner
If the event should shape a customer journey over time, Vero has a better mental model. The lifecycle owner can think in audiences, events, and messages instead of analytics workflows.
My recommendation
Use PostHog Workflows to act quickly from data. Use Vero when event-based messaging needs a dedicated owner. Use Sequenzy when that messaging is mostly SaaS email with billing and transactional context.
