Brands use video across welcomes, onboarding, newsletters, digests, and product launches, while Prashanti Sarees adds escalating urgency and a repeated shipping message. Subject lines include welcome prompts, product offers, and timely calls to action.

The first four emails in arrival order are welcome emails from Omnisend, KEH, Brafton, and Linear. Their subject lines include simple welcome formulas such as "Welcome to KEH", "Welcome to the club!", and "Welcome to Linear". The emails explain what the subscriber can expect, from a twice-monthly format at Omnisend to onboarding sessions and setup guides at Linear.
Later welcome emails add more personality or context. Oxfam uses "Thanks! You just joined a powerful community fighting inequality." to connect signup with its mission, while D-ID uses "Welcome to D-ID 🎉" before introducing its creation tools and a paid-plan offer. Oxfam, Resend, Hello Bar, and Sleekplan are marked with the founder voice design trait, and Sleekplan also asks the reader to reply with feedback.
Prashanti Sarees provides the clearest repeated launch sequence in this collection. Three product launch emails arrived on the same date, moving from "GSF Ends TODAY - Launch 34/40 | Madhuram Soft Silk Sarees - Flat 10% OFF | Free International Shipping" to a Nalina launch with the same offer, then to "GSF Ends in FEW HOURS - Launch 39/40 | Pochampally Silk Sarees - Flat 10% OFF | Free International Shipping". Their content highlights collections, products, launch videos, shopping links, or product recommendations. Two use countdowns, and the first also uses an animated GIF.
Other retail emails use different combinations of offers and product content. KEH offers 5% off a first purchase alongside free shipping, warranty coverage, sustainability information, and educational resources. Everything Kitchens announces the Ankarsrum Essential Package at a lower price, includes expert endorsement, and compares the mixer with KitchenAid. Missouri Star Quilt Co. promotes a midweek discount and uses a product grid.
Every email in the collection includes video, but video serves different jobs. RevenueCat, Linear, Framer, Storyblok, Fivetran, and LastPass use walkthroughs or tutorials to support setup or activation. Tim Ferriss, KEH, Girls Who Code, and 80,000 Hours use video inside editorial roundups. Gibson uses a craft-focused video, while Rough Country uses video content to introduce vehicle builds.
Calls to action range from one obvious next step to several choices. Notion's "Let AI take the notes next meeting" encourages readers to try one feature, while Framer directs new users toward creating and publishing a first site. Some retail emails use product grids, and Hello Bar combines setup instructions with performance claims and personal support. The preview text "Free International Shipping - Orders on Rs.15,000/-" appears on 3 of 40 emails shown.
Video emails feature a video thumbnail or GIF preview that links to a demo, walkthrough or launch film.
Most clients cannot play video inline, so a clear play icon on an image earns the click.
"2 minute demo" lowers the barrier to watching.
