Across Artfinder, Anthropologie, and other brands, these emails combine editorial curation with shopping prompts. Repeatable subject labels, selective offers, and varied layouts provide several patterns marketers can borrow.

Of all the emails in this collection, 61% are newsletters and 39% are digests. Some retail emails lead with curation rather than a single product push: Chairish assembles furniture, art, lighting, jewelry, sale finds, and auctions, while Claire creates an October edit around opal-inspired sparkle and seasonal finds.
The emails use different reasons to return. 80,000 Hours recommends AI blogs, videos, podcasts, and social accounts to follow, Lonely Planet gathers future trip ideas, and The Streamable mixes streaming news with guides, deals, sports, and viewing recommendations. Christianity.com uses trivia, devotionals, service ideas, and video, while Mark Manson builds his emails around personal advice or reflection.
Several retailers name a repeatable editorial property: Anthropologie uses “The Weekly Drop: September Arrivals”, Free People uses “The Monday Drop: We The Free Bag Edit ‘26”, and Stadium Goods goes with “Our New Arrivals”. These subjects identify the kind of email subscribers are opening before the details arrive.
Other brands create an opening through a question, opinion, or challenge. Pact asks “Which Fall Pant Fits You?”, Mark Manson uses “Say the thing”, and Christianity.com repeats “See if you can answer today's trivia question!” across two digest emails. Emoji appears in 24% of subject lines, with examples including Artfinder’s “New picks for you ✨” and Girls Who Code’s “Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month 🌟”.
Artfinder includes a limited-time discount code in both “New picks for you ✨” and “Best of September 🍂”. The first email also features artist recommendations and category links, while the second is a curated roundup of standout artwork. Anthropologie puts “+ Up to 50% OFF SALE” in preview text for its arrivals email, while Free People promotes free standard shipping in an email about new styles and seasonal essentials.
The links reflect each email’s content. Product grids in the two Artfinder emails, Claire’s “Meet your October edit ✨”, and Stadium Goods’ “Our New Arrivals” link to individual items or collections. Digest emails link readers to articles, videos, job listings, or guides. Chairish also invites subscribers to browse collections and choose their preferred email frequency.
Product grids appear in four emails, while plain text appears in Mark Manson’s “Say the thing”, his founder-voice email “You are not your labels”, and Eater’s “The curse of ‘catch-up’ dinners with friends”. Those plain-text emails contain advice, a personal essay, or related editorial content.
Personalization appears in Thorne’s expert roundup, Artfinder’s new-picks email, Girls Who Code’s heritage-month newsletter, and Kipling’s retirement and investing roundup. Video appears in the Girls Who Code email and 80,000 Hours’ collaborative roundup. Red appears in emails from The Streamable, Eater, Time Out, and Kipling; Christianity.com uses orange, and 80,000 Hours uses teal.
Newsletters are recurring editorial emails that keep an audience engaged between purchases or logins: stories, tips, curated links and updates on a regular schedule.
