Nerd Fitness moves from email verification to a founder-led coaching pitch in a daily onboarding run. Free resources come first, while practical advice, social proof, and an expiring discount culminate in a day 6 activation nudge.

Nerd Fitness sends an account verification email first, on day 0, with a single call to action. It welcomes the subscriber, asks for confirmation, and connects that step to access to free fitness guides and future resources.
After confirmation, the welcome email arrives on day 0. Matt shares a library of free guides, asks readers to reply with their goals, previews upcoming resources, and mentions coaching. The email therefore combines an immediate resource with an introduction to the coaching offer.
The seven-email Nerd Fitness onboarding sequence includes one message per day from day 1 through day 6, following the day 0 welcome email. The sequence combines reassurance about fitness worries, coaching lessons, and advice for recovering when progress stalls with recurring references to coaching. Each email presents the offer in a different context.
The coaching invitation becomes especially explicit as the sequence continues. On day 2, the email encourages readers to book a free coaching call and explains how personalized accountability can support their goals. On day 4, its content notes that the introductory discount is expiring soon. The activation nudge on day 6 makes the deadline explicit with the subject line “Last chance - your discount expires tonight” and content about a $100 discount, common objections, the coaching program, and a client testimonial. Blue and red appear in the day 4, day 5, and day 6 emails, with the final email also using a countdown, social proof, and a single call to action.
The subject lines use several angles: a list in “7 things you can stop worrying about”, a question in “What if this doesn't work, either?”, and a personal lesson in “3 lessons from 15 years of coaching”. The preview texts add further context, such as “What actually matters - and what really doesn't.” and “He fell off every 3 weeks. Then did 150 workouts in a year.”
Founder voice appears in the welcome email and all six onboarding emails. Social proof appears in the emails about going it alone, stalled progress, getting unstuck, and the final discount reminder. The subject line “Your Free Guides are ready 💪” is the only subject line in this set with an emoji.
