Lastpass concentrates account safety, monitoring, and setup in its first messages. Repeated welcome and status emails lead into a five-email onboarding path with focused next steps.

The opening email is a welcome focused on preventing account lockout. Its content explains how to set up one-time passwords as a backup for the master password, while the subject line says "You're in! Let’s make sure you never lose access" and the preview text adds "Action needed: Avoid account lockout".
The next message is a monitoring notification. It confirms that Dark Web Monitoring is active, reports no known breaches in the initial scan, and sends the reader to the Security Dashboard. Its subject line, "Your Dark Web Monitoring is active", is repeated as the preview text, making the message’s status unmistakable. Both the welcome and monitoring emails appear again before Lastpass moves on to setup guidance. That repetition makes account safety the clearest opening theme.
After the repeated welcome and monitoring messages, Lastpass sends a reminder to finish setting up a prospective trial account. The email highlights Premium and uses the subject line "Take the next step toward stress‑free logins". Next comes an onboarding email about the vault, using "Password reset? Card typo? Not anymore." to introduce saved passwords, payment forms, Wi-Fi credentials, and important documents.
The final message arrives on day 1 and explains how to install the browser extension and enable autosave and autofill. Its subject line, "Stop typing passwords—start saving them instantly", states the benefit before the email links to a video tutorial. The sequence therefore moves from avoiding account loss, to checking security, to completing setup, then to using the product during everyday logins. The Lastpass onboarding sequence contains five emails and covers these setup steps rather than relying on one broad introduction.
Lastpass favors direct, benefit-led subject lines with occasional urgency or a question. The welcome subject names a risk, the monitoring subject confirms a status, and the vault subject turns familiar frustrations into a promise. Preview text is used differently across these messages: the welcome repeats an action-oriented warning, while the monitoring emails repeat the status already stated in the subject.
The emails keep the path simple. The welcome, both monitoring notifications, the setup reminder, and the vault email each use a single CTA. The monitoring messages are personalized, while the extension email adds video to explain a multi-step installation task. Red is the recurring email color, with blue added to the monitoring and extension messages. You can copy this structure by giving each email one job, stating that job plainly in the subject, and adding richer guidance only when the task needs demonstration.
