It's balanced and has a layered, sexy mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. This magical Syrah flirts with perfection." 97 Points from Wine Enthusiast saying: "This bottling reveals the magic of York Mountain, where the power of Paso Robles meets the undeniable influence of a cooler climate. Aromas of blackberry, elderflower and violet lead from the nose into a tense palate of elderberry jam, charred gam and cracked peppercorns. These flavors crave cellar time but are delicious nowd" 97+ Points from Vinous saying: "The 2021 Syrah York Mountain is dreamy, blending sweet herbs and olives with wet stones and blackberries. Cool-toned and collected, it sweeps across the palate with polished red and black fruits, motivated by vibrant acidity as crisp mineral tones define the close. Hints of sour citrus and spice resonate throughout as this finishes with staining length and concentration yet somehow remains remarkably fresh, leaving behind a lingering note of salted" background: Flirting with perfection, the 2021 Epoch Estate Wines York Mountain Syrah captures the pinnacle of cool-climate California winemaking from one of the Central Coast's most historic terroirs. Masterfully crafted by acclaimed winemaker Jordan Fiorentini, this stunning bottling co-ferments Syrah with touches of Viognier and Roussanne to reveal an ethereal bouquet of fresh cracked pepper, wild blackberries, and fragrant violets. Jeb Dunnuck awarded this tour de force an astounding 99 Points, praising its layered mouthfeel and declaring that this "magical Syrah flirts with perfection." Richly complex yet remarkably fresh and vibrant, this collector-worthy masterpiece is an extraordinary addition to any fine wine cellar. 5 Star customer review! "Every now and then my palate longs for a really great Syrah. This Epoch Estate Syrah definitely qualifies. The wine features a velvety mouth experience and a balance that combines tasting notes of dark berries, a hint of chocolate and a smooth, lingering finish. Sophisticated yet bold enough to pair nicely with roasted lamb or dark meat turkey, but just as much at home with some nice, fresh, crusty sourdough and a plate of white cheddar or havarti cheese."
