Old Navy Just Launched a Collaboration With Altuzarra (and Almost Everything Is Under $100) Photo-Illustration: by The Cut; Photos: Aemilia Madden, Retailer Altuzarra is a brand I’ve come to know for its whimsical romanticism. Hemlines are sweeping, textures are lush, and the looks feel like ones worn by heroines — or at least well-dressed executives. A collaboration with Old Navy might not immediately seem like a fit. Old Navy is a brand I associate with classic sportswear and Americana — denim and rugby shirts. But Joseph Altuzarra saw something else: the brand’s “sense of optimism and joy.” Posen views Altuzarra as a star of American design, the uplifting of which has become a key pillar of his strategy at Old Navy. Having already worked with Christopher John Rogers and Anna Sui, introducing Altuzarra to a wider audience is where he set his sights next. The limited-edition collection, which ranges in price from $25 to $140, launched earlier this week, and almost everything is still in stock. I tested eight pieces to see which ones are worth buying (and which ones you can skip). Overall, the materials have a nice hand-feel, and even though the designs are relatively simple, the thoughtful elements in each ultimately make them successful. As a beauty editor, I’ve tested every skin-care device you can think of, from LED masks to handheld beauty tools that promise a variety of results. A lot of the beauty devices on the market are splurges, so I recommend using sale events as an excuse to upgrade your beauty-tool arsenal at a lower price. There will be plenty more beauty-device deals when October Prime Day officially kicks off, but in the meantime, you can find discounts on the glow-boosting Solawave Radiant Renewal 4-in-1 Skincare Wand that smooths fine lines and wrinkles, the Shark CryoGlow LED Face Mask that soothes and depuffs the under-eye area, and the viral Medicube Booster Pro X2 that truly does it all. —Asia Milia Ware, beauty editor READ MORE GONE SALE-ING The Fashion Basics and Fall Essentials a Shopping Editor Buys During Prime Day Photo-Illustration: by The Cut; Photos: Carol Lee, Retailers If you’re only here for the fashion deals, don’t worry: We found those too. You probably already know Prime Day is one of the best times of the year to save on basics like white T-shirts, socks, and Levi's jeans. But what you might not know is that Amazon’s the Shop by Shopbop storefront (an extension of Shopbop featuring contemporary fashion brands you know and love) also has great discounts during Prime Day. The best early deals include an everyday Gap button-up, a pastel-pink trench coat, and Dolce Vita black boots you can wear with everything this fall. —Hanna Flanagan, senior shopping editor MORE SALES Still Shopping?
