College Football 1 On3 Heisman Trophy Poll: Ranking the top players after Week 4 We have another shakeup atop the On3 weekly Heisman Trophy poll tracking the candidates for college football’s top award. Notably, a quarterback no longer leads the way, with non-quarterback skill position players making up half of the top 10 players. Coming off Week 4, here's a snapshot of the poll below. 1. WR Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State (149 points) WEEKEND STATS: 12 catches for 217 yards, 4 TD A "slow" Week 3 by Smith's standards didn't last long. The Ohio State star was everywhere against Illinois, flashing the kind of body control in the end zone that's become his trademark. It was a career day for a player who's already done just about everything, and it vaulted him to the top of the poll. 6. WR Malachi Toney, Miami (78 points) WEEKEND STATS: 6 catches for 120 yards, 1 TD Toney has found the end zone in all four games this season and topped 100 yards in three of them. His lone miss was a 96-yard outing in Week 2. What stands out most is the explosiveness: he's averaging 16.6 yards per catch, and that number sits closer to 20 when you take out the Wake Forest game. Smith and Toney are only two of the 10 names in this week's poll. The full ranking shows who filled the other eight spots, where last week's leader slid to, and the seven other players who are also receiving votes. HEISMAN RANKINGS → College Football 2 True Freshman Standouts from Week 4 of College Football Week 4 was loaded with big conference matchups, and true freshmen across the country kept making themselves impossible to ignore. LSU DL Deuce Geralds earned True Freshman of the Week after wrecking Texas A&M's night with two sacks, including a drive-ending takedown right before halftime. Four more players made the list, including a pair of WRs who topped 100 yards, the nation's No. 1 overall recruit, and a CB whose interception sparked an upset. TRUE FRESHMEN OF THE WEEK → College Football 3 New details emerge after ex-Auburn staffer arrested for leaking recruiting info A former Auburn Football staffer has been arrested on charges of theft of trade secrets and computer tampering.
