Catholic Relief Services World Food Day giving appeal

A World Food Day appeal invites readers to join CRS’s monthly giving program. It uses a Honduran farming family’s story to show how training and long-term support can strengthen food security and livelihoods.

Day 20 after signup

Friend, help make food programming last!

This World Food Day, start giving monthly to support programs that help families grow food, earn a stable income and strengthen nutrition.

Why it works

  • Tie the appeal to a timely occasion so readers immediately understand why they are hearing from the organization.
  • Use one specific family’s experience to make the broader impact of the program concrete.
  • Explain how recurring support helps, then place a clear giving invitation before the sign-off.

How it is built

  1. World Food Day framing
  2. Monthly giving invitation
  3. Family story and quote
  4. Impact and giving appeal
  5. CEO sign-off and survey

This World Food Day, start giving monthly to help families grow food. Dear Friend, On World Food Day, we celebrate farmers, families and communities working toward a future free from hunger. Around the world, they are growing food, stewarding natural resources, caring for the land and building better futures for their children. Friend, I invite you to join Footsteps in Faith, the CRS monthly giving program. When you give each month, you ensure that families have the support they need to grow more food, earn stable incomes and create lasting change in their communities. Help Farmers and Families In Honduras, Miriam Sánches and her husband, Luis Beltrán, have spent decades cultivating crops and sharing what they have learned. Through agricultural training, Luis learned sustainable practices that protect soil, conserve water and improve harvests. But the greatest lesson he carried forward was the importance of sharing that knowledge with others. “One day, CRS’ work here will come to an end,” Luis says. “But what stays with us is what we’ve learned. It’s up to me to put that knowledge into practice, see the results on my own land and share those lessons with others.” This is what effective food programming makes possible. With training, resources and support, families can improve harvests, strengthen nutrition and pass new opportunities on to the next generation. As we mark World Food Day, stories like Miriam and Luis’ remind us of the incredible possibilities that emerge when families have the support they need. Will you make stories like these by joining Footsteps in Faith as a monthly donor today? Together, we can provide the steady, long-term support families need to grow more food, strengthen their livelihoods and create lasting opportunities for the next generation. Peace and light, Sean L. Callahan President & CEO Catholic Relief Services Join Footsteps in Faith Today P.S. If you've already joined Footsteps in Faith, thank you! P.P.S.
