The Information editorial newsletter

Hello, Every AI model that ships, every agent a company rolls out and every dollar businesses spend on AI traces back to a small group of people. This month, The Information named them. Our new 50 Most Influential People in Tech list names the people we think will shape the industry over the next decade. In AI and Enterprise, that includes Anthropic’s Dario Amodei, Microsoft’s Satya Nadella and Cognition’s Scott Wu, along with a few names you might not expect. We didn’t take applications or listen to PR pitches. The list draws on what The Information does best: the hundreds of conversations our reporters have with sources every week. That same reporting shows you what these leaders are doing before they announce it. Subscribe for $399 $299 and save 25% on your first year to unlock the full list. Sam Altman’s next model raises new questions OpenAI is readying Astra as its answer to Anthropic’s rise, but a technique inside the model has researchers across the industry worried about how much they’ll be able to see. The Amodeis prepare for one of the biggest debuts ever As Dario and Daniela Amodei take Anthropic public, the company is weighing a move that would set its IPO apart from this year’s other blockbuster listings. AI’s biggest rivals, behind closed doors Anthropic, OpenAI and Google compete on nearly everything, yet their teams have been quietly meeting about building something together, even before Dario Amodei’s public call for it. Andy Jassy’s AWS takes aim at Microsoft Amazon’s AI service was once a sore spot inside AWS. We tell the story of the small team that rebuilt it, and why it’s now pulling business away from Satya Nadella’s Azure. The people on this list rarely announce their next move, and some barely give interviews at all. To know where they’re headed, you have to be in the conversations before the press release. That’s where The Information’s reporters are, every week. Subscribers can also go behind the scenes in our exclusive conversation with The Information’s Jessica Lessin and Jemima McEvoy on how the list came together, including who made the cut and who didn’t.
