Hello, As Anthropic heads toward its eagerly awaited IPO, pressure is coming from every direction: customers nervous about their data, a safety debate that has pulled in its biggest rivals, a regulator in Beijing and, soon, Wall Street. The Information has been inside Anthropic's story from the start, tracking its customers, compute deals and safety fights as they happen, not after they show up in a prospectus. Anthropic's most sensitive customers pull back Companies that handle some of the most sensitive corporate work, including Nvidia, Palantir and Booz Allen Hamilton, are restricting their use of Anthropic's most advanced models over data fears, and one rival is already moving to win them over. A compute deal with a Trump-linked twist Anthropic's hunt for computing power led it to a multibillion-dollar deal with Rum Group, the company behind Rumble with long-standing ties to the Trump administration, and the deal comes with an unusual equity sweetener. The safety talks happening behind closed doors Weeks before Dario Amodei publicly called on AI companies to coordinate on safety, Anthropic, OpenAI and Google had been quietly meeting about an industry standards body, and that group is now taking shape with a shortlist of names to lead it. Beijing turns on its own AI champions After Anthropic accused seven Chinese companies of using Claude illicitly, China's internet regulator zeroed in on two of them, DeepSeek and Moonshot AI, over fears that sensitive state and military data ended up with an American model. The founders want the final say Ahead of the IPO, Anthropic is asking shareholders to hand Dario Amodei and his six co-founders collective voting control. Customers, rivals and regulators in Washington and Beijing are all reacting to Anthropic's moves. With its listing now looking more likely for late October or November, public investors are next. Three of these stories broke in The Information before Reuters, The New York Times, CNN, The Washington Post and Bloomberg's Matt Levine followed. Before it's everywhere, it's in The Information.
