Howdy, Email Geek 👋 I was at my office working on a project with a colleague many years ago when he got the news that the children’s book he helped create would become a Netflix show. It was surreal. Not because Archibald was getting made, but because this guy had worked on a children’s book. We do this with people. We put them in a mental folder, and they tend to stay there under whatever we know them for. For RGE, that’s probably “the place where you look at good emails.” That’s fair. We’ve spent more than a decade earning that spot. But RGE Studio gives you a place to make emails, too. If you haven’t checked it out in a while (or your last visit was a quick poke around between meetings), now’s the time to see how it can help with everything you’re building for Q4. Bring an email you actually need to make, the layout you’re tired of remaking, or the team that wants a better way to stay on brand. Give RGE Studio something to do, and see whether we belong in another folder. Creating a Netflix original is optional. Meet our other side And now, an ad from a partner... Now to read some stuff that you can share with other people and look smart. Your brand guidelines can’t fix your workflow That off-brand font may be a symptom of a bigger problem. Monotype’s James Potter looks at how brand decisions get lost between teams, tools, and handoffs and why adding another approval step won’t solve it. Follow the handoffs > Give your next campaign a fighting chance Last-minute additions. Missing assets. Someone asking what the email is supposed to accomplish after you’ve built it. Litmus walks through campaign planning, from setting goals and assigning ownership to creating a brief your team can actually use. Make a plan > Your email has a nightlife You picked the colors. The inbox has other plans. Email on Acid explains how dark mode affects logos, contrast, and brand colors, with design and coding techniques to help your email survive the switch. Check the dark side > Your creative brain doesn’t clock out Pearlfisher’s Chloé Templeman talks about finding inspiration everywhere, loving deliberately messy design, and learning to trust her own creative judgment. Also on her list of pet peeves: letting AI give feedback on work without understanding the brief. Trust your taste > Poll of the week You asked. We listened. The weird poll thingy of the week is back! You know what to do: hit reply with your answer and we'll tally up the votes. Then we'll try to explain what it means. Here we go. Question: What’s your secret skill? A. Spotting a typo the instant an email becomes impossible to edit B. Turning “one small change” into six versions and a meeting C. Knowing who hasn’t approved the email by the silence in Slack D. Seeing what won't work in Outlook immediately in the Figma file E. Finding the broken link after everyone else says “looks good to me” Thanks for reading and learning since September 2026. P.S. It really helps if you forward this to a friend, colleague, or ex-lover so they understand what you mean when you reference "RGE's email." Also, we're desperate for friends.
