When should you choose Sequenzy?
1. You're a SaaS Founder
If you're building a subscription software business, Klaviyo isn't designed for you. It's optimized for e-commerce stores selling physical products. Sequenzy integrates directly with Stripe—syncing customer data, MRR, subscription status, and churn signals. Klaviyo's Stripe integration is basic and e-commerce focused.
2. You Need Simpler Pricing
At 10,000 subscribers, Sequenzy costs $49/month. Klaviyo costs $150/month—3x more. And Klaviyo's pricing scales aggressively. At 50,000 contacts, Klaviyo can cost $720+/month. If e-commerce features aren't critical to your business, you're paying for functionality you don't need.
3. You Need Unified Transactional + Marketing
Sequenzy handles both transactional emails (password resets, receipts) and marketing campaigns with separate systems—transactional emails don't count toward your limits. Klaviyo counts all emails toward your limit, including transactional ones. This can get expensive fast.
4. You Want Simplicity
Klaviyo is powerful but has a steep learning curve. Advanced segmentation requires understanding boolean logic. Setting up flows can be complex. If you want something simpler that just works, Sequenzy is more approachable.
When should you stick with Klaviyo?
1. You Run an E-commerce Store
If you're on Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, or Magento, Klaviyo is purpose-built for you. Their abandoned cart flows alone can recover 3.3% of lost sales (industry benchmark). Their product recommendations are AI-powered. Their purchase behavior segmentation is incredible. We can't match this.
2. You Need SMS Marketing
Klaviyo includes SMS/MMS marketing natively. You can send abandoned cart texts, promotional campaigns, and transactional messages. We don't offer SMS at all. If you need both email and SMS in one platform, Klaviyo is the choice.
3. You Need Product Recommendations
Klaviyo can dynamically insert product recommendations based on a customer's purchase history, browsing behavior, and similar customers. This is gold for e-commerce. We don't have this feature.
4. You Need E-commerce Segmentation
Klaviyo's e-commerce segmentation is incredibly powerful—you can segment by purchase behavior, website activity, cart value, and more. While we have full segmentation, Klaviyo's depth for e-commerce use cases is superior.
5. You Need Predictive Analytics
Klaviyo predicts customer lifetime value, expected next purchase date, and churn risk based on your data. We don't have predictive analytics yet. For data-driven e-commerce, this is a major advantage.
Honest Limitations of Sequenzy
