Hi There,
There is a strange assumption in online education that more content means more value.
More lessons. More videos. More downloads. More bonuses.
It certainly makes a course look substantial. But from the learner’s point of view, every extra item is also something else to complete, understand, remember, or decide whether to skip.
And at some point, “comprehensive” starts to feel like “overwhelming”.
The job of a course is not to prove how much you know – it’s to help someone reach a specific outcome.
That means every lesson should earn its place.
If removing a lesson wouldn’t make it harder for the learner to achieve the promised result, ask whether it belongs in the core course at all. Some material may work better as an optional resource, bonus lesson, reference section, or follow-up course.
A clear course structure can help separate the essential learning path from useful extras, while Drip Content can stop learners from being confronted with everything at once.
You can also use prerequisites when one piece of learning genuinely depends on another, rather than simply making every lesson compulsory by default.
The strongest courses are rarely the ones with the most material. They are the ones where learners can see what matters, understand why it matters, and keep moving.
Your expertise is measured by what you know. Your teaching is measured by what you can leave out. |

⚡ QUICK TIP
Use Course Tracks as a “Choose Your Own Role” Menu |
|
Course Tracks are normally used to group related courses into a learning path, but you can also use them to organize the same course library around different types of learners.
For example, create tracks such as “I’m a Manager,” “I’m in Sales,” “I’m a Tutor,” or “I’m a New Hire,” and then assign the most relevant courses to each. LifterLMS automatically creates a page for each Course Track, so learners can jump straight to the collection that best matches their role.
It’s a simple way to make a large training library feel more personalized without duplicating courses.

How to Sell Courses and Memberships to Groups with WooCommerce
Selling training to a company or organization is very different from selling a course to one person. This new guide shows how LifterLMS Groups 3.0 works with WooCommerce so customers can buy multiple seats in a single transaction, choose how many places they need, and manage their own team after purchase.
It also covers some of the newer Groups 3.0 purchasing options, including adding more seats to an existing group or buying a separate group for the same course. WooCommerce is optional, but for sites already using it, the integration provides a familiar checkout flow while LifterLMS handles group enrollment, seat allocation, and learner reporting.

How to Find Yourself with Kinergy Creator David Labuschagne
Chris Badgett talks with David Labuschagne, founder of Kinergy.life, about the ideas behind his work helping people become more self-aware, regain clarity, and take greater control of their wellbeing. David describes a three-step approach built around identifying what is really driving a problem, understanding what is getting in the way, and then finding practical ways to address it.
The conversation also explores how those ideas feed into David’s 12-stage Max Your Mojo program, which combines meditation, movement, awareness, and behavioral change. Along the way, he discusses why he sees personal growth as a long-term process of becoming more conscious of your habits, values, energy, and choices rather than looking for a quick fix.

🌍 From the Wider World of Online Education
Useful ideas from outside LifterLMS, including education, entrepreneurship, AI, WordPress, community building, and technology. Not everything here is about LMS software directly, but each item has a lesson that course creators can use.
Make Cool Things With AI That People Buy
Greg Isenberg shares three practical ways he thinks Gemini 4 Argon can be used to create businesses rather than just generate content: building more distinctive marketing experiences, designing personalized physical products, and rebuilding narrow legacy SaaS tools for underserved niches. The most useful community-building idea is his emphasis on knowing the niche first and using AI to respond to what that audience already cares about, whether that means creating something highly shareable, testing customized products, or spotting recurring problems people are already paying to solve.
The World Doesn’t Care About Your Intelligence – Shaan Puri
Shaan Puri argues that people often ask for advice not because they lack information, but because they are looking for permission to do what they already know they want to do. His broader point is that life and business are rarely “intelligence-gated” as much as they are courage- and action-gated: progress comes from being willing to start, risk failure, look foolish, and act despite uncertainty. For entrepreneurs, it is a useful reminder that another book, course, podcast, or opinion will not necessarily move you forward if the real obstacle is simply giving yourself permission to act.
GridFTP: A Brief History of Fast File Transfer
John Bresnahan looks back at how GridFTP became a de facto standard for moving huge scientific datasets across distributed research systems, but the most useful lesson for experts is the design philosophy behind it. Rather than forcing users to understand every detail of networking, security, performance, and storage, the system evolved toward a “fire-and-forget” model in which researchers could request a transfer and let the infrastructure handle the underlying complexity. For anyone building expertise-based products, services, or training, it is a good reminder that the most valuable systems often hide complexity from the user instead of exposing more of it.
5 Ways Course Platforms Must Evolve
Justin Ferriman argues that online course platforms have become too stagnant, with many still relying on dated layouts, bolted-on AI, bloated “Frankenstein” feature sets, user-based pricing, and increasingly impersonal support. His vision for 2027 is more learner-centric: use AI quietly to improve outcomes, simplify platforms instead of stuffing them with features, rethink pricing models, and put human connection back at the center of the learning experience.
Why Learning Can’t Stop When the Lesson Ends
Roee Naim argues that a successful lesson is only the beginning of learning, because understanding something with a teacher’s support is very different from being able to retrieve and apply it independently later. He suggests treating learning as a loop of lesson > practice > feedback > identified gaps > next lesson, with technology and AI helping to provide timely practice and feedback between sessions while the teacher remains responsible for the human parts of learning such as motivation, encouragement, and accountability.
Rank Math Confirms System Breach Delivered Malware to Several Hundred PRO Customers
Rank Math has confirmed that attackers breached its systems and replaced the legitimate Rank Math PRO 3.0.123 download with a malware-infected copy for roughly 11 hours on October 15–16, affecting several hundred customers. The incident is a particularly useful warning for WordPress site owners because the malicious build carried the same version number as the clean release, meaning normal version checks would not reveal the problem. Rank Math has since released version 3.0.124 and advised affected users to treat compromised sites as fully breached, restore from a clean backup where possible, and rotate passwords, database credentials, and API keys. |

💡 CREATOR SPOTLIGHT
Esther Inman – From Virtual Assistant to $50,000 a Month |
|
Esther Inman didn’t originally set out to build an online course. As a military spouse looking for flexible work she could take anywhere, she found success as a virtual assistant for online course creators. When demand became too much for her to handle alone, she realized other military spouses in her community wanted the same kind of work but did not know how to get started. That became the foundation for her 90 Day VA program, which went on to generate more than $430,000 in sales in 2019. |
 |
|
Rather than disappearing for months to build the perfect course, Esther started with three beta students and developed the material alongside them over six months. Weekly calls gave her real-time feedback, helped her improve the curriculum as she built it, and produced testimonials and early advocates before the full launch. She later re-recorded the course in LifterLMS, but those first sessions meant she could refine something learners had already helped validate instead of guessing what they needed. |
 |
|
Her approach to finding customers was similarly practical. Instead of starting with an email list, she identified the people she wanted to help, found the communities where they were already spending time, and created useful content around the problem they were trying to solve. It is a strong example of building a course from a real community need first, then allowing the product, audience, and marketing to grow around it.
