And many of them have been there for hundreds of years! Amazingly, they are protected from decay by the underground clay. I hope those tree trunks stay strong for many more years. I don’t know when I’ll get the chance, but I’ve always wanted to visit and take a gondola ride down the canals and under the ancient bridges.
