Wow. I'm not even sure how to begin this email ๐ .
Let's start with a quick hello and reminder that Teachery is run by an extremely small team, not some huge investor-backed, soulless corporation...
Hello, it's me, Jason Zook the founder of Teachery with my morning coffee and (never-ending) to-do list for Teachery 4.0 ๐
Also, I tried my hardest to reduce this email into as few words as possible, and I kindly ask that you read them all before replying with any questions ๐ค.
The amount of work we've done to get to today is a bit mind-blowing, but I'm not going to waste your time with that in this email.
Teachery 4.0 is not a facelift or a few newly-designed app screens. It's an entirely new app with a completely rebuilt interface, editor, set of tools, and everything has been done to help you more quickly share your knowledge with the world in a way that matches your brand.

We are SO EXCITED about this new version of Teachery and can't wait for you to dive in!
Let's go over a few things...
โณ Teachery 3.0 (current version) can be used by existing customers until March 31, 2027
We've used other software apps ourselves that have gone through upgrades and we've always appreciated a transition period.
If you are an existing Teachery user, you can continue to use Teachery "3.0" just as you use it today (creating, editing, selling, etc) until you're ready to move. All accounts will be migrated automatically on March 31, 2027.
NOTE: We will stop doing any customer support on Teachery 3.0 after January 31, 2027, but you can still use the current version through March. Obviously, we will keep an eye on Teachery 3.0 and ensure it's running, but we have to transition to only supporting one version to be able to devote the majority of our resources to the future of Teachery.

๐ง Teachery 4.0's "soft launch" means a few features aren't done yet and you might find a bug here or there
Please know, the amount of testing we've done on Teachery 4.0 has been immense! But, no amount of testing can find every bug, edge case, or feature that could be better. Again, we're human beings and a small group working on 4.0.
At any point while you're using Teachery 4.0 you can report a problem using the feedback button ๐ฌ (please try to ask the AI Assistant first). We will read every single bit of feedback, so please be kind as there is a person on the other end.
When you login to 3.0 or 4.0, you'll see an announcement bar telling you to migrate your Courses, Products, or Hubs.
The migration is done via Teachery 4.0 through three steps:
You Copy an item over first
You review and check if it can be moved
You make the final Move and it pulls over all payment pages, landing pages, and active students
Your existing students won't notice anything unless you have a custom domain in your Course, Product, or Hub. You'll see an alert you need to update 1 DNS record (this is for custom domains only).
We've tried to make this as painless as humanly possible ๐.

๐ My plan is to write you a "Teachery Tuesdays" email every week the next few weeks to keep you up to date.
To reiterate, we are not a huge corporation with a PR team. We are also not trying to hide that Teachery 4.0 is still in progress and is not fully feature complete yet (again, see the roadmap).
I'm going to write a weekly update email moving forward so that you hear directly from me on what we're fixing, releasing, and any other commonly-asked questions worth addressing.
Also, it's very easy to get caught up in the "what Teachery 4.0 is missing" during this phase. I want to highlight the GOOD STUFF that users are creating as well, because Teachery 4.0 is incredibly powerful and we can't wait to see what you create with it! ๐๐

Log in using your existing 3.0 email/password
When you log in to Teachery 4.0 you will see nothing from your existing Teachery 3.0 account on purpose
We know that change is tough, especially when it can impact your livelihood. Please know we're doing everything we can to make the 3.0 to 4.0 transition as painless as possible for you ๐.
2๏ธโฃ Teachery 4.0 support is AI first, but not only AI
Within an app like Teachery, our own well-trained AI model can answer most common questions faster than we humans can. If you have a question, simply ask the Teachery 4.0 AI Assistant (in the bottom right corner of your screen).
If you need to escalate your issue to us, just ask the assistant to do so and it will file a support ticket and we'll reply back to you.
This is a system we are testing to try to support more customers, faster. We are NOT planning to be 100% AI-only support and we do have robust help docs.
