Caring has no age limit

Young people around the country are finding creative ways to help animals, even when traditional volunteer roles aren’t available to them.

No-kill is within reach, thanks to you

A dog or cat is killed in America’s shelters every 90 seconds just because they don’t have a safe place to call home. That's why people like you around the U.S. are working together to bring our best friends home.

TLC is medicine

Wanda the cat is small in stature but big in personality. Diagnosed with a terminal illness, she’s living her days in an adoptive home surrounded by love.

Support for lifesaving care

Best Friends grants enable our network partners to provide critical care to pets, including low-cost spay/neuter services and vaccines.

More stories of love and lifesaving

We know millions of households will add a pet to their family this year, and if just 1 in 17 more of those families chose to adopt a pet from a shelter, we could reach no-kill nationwide.

Home starts with you

No matter where you live, you can make a lifesaving difference for animals waiting for homes of their own when you adopt, donate, foster, and use your voice to stand up for homeless pets.
