Flox - Create reproducible environments for devs + agents, across laptops → CI → prod, on macOS/Linux, x86/ARM.

+  Interesting tools

Here are our developer tool picks of the week.

WorkOS

Auth and access control.

What we like: Pre-built UI and widgets, but with APIs for full customization of auth flows. Delegate credential storage for third-party logins and mint access tokens on demand. Handles agent auth, SAML, SSO, etc. Complementary features like audit logs, secrets vault, impersonation, access controls.

What we don't like: Verifying sessions across language boundaries e.g. from web / JS to a Go API backend requires some extra work to implement.

GoNIX

UNIX with a Go userspace.

What we like: Init, coreutils, networking, etc all written in Go. Statically linked. Includes a package manager, also written in Go. Can upgrade running systems in place. Built on the Linux kernel, then the Go init becomes PID 1. Supports both server and (Wayland) desktop. Website is served by GoNIX itself.

What we don't like: Does have to build some C, which it does with musl.
