These first few lines are the general aphoristic returns for the week. They are raw and uninterpreted; there to use how you’d like. (The specific readings follow.)
- To thrive, to create, one must be in accord with what fosters thriving and creativity. Duh.
- Do not delay in fixing obvious problems.
- Accepting difficulties (like losses) is a way of building the serenity needed to do great things.
- Endurance requires flexibility.
Question from “D.M.T.”: If it is the case that information comes in, to a human’s mind, filtered first by (or pre-noticed by recollection) so as to make new memories out of information — to add to the coterie of recollections for future usefulness, i.e. tools for a human’s general survival (e.g. preemptive instincts of danger avoidance and the like). That is, the formation of a memory is impure and weirdly insubstantial, a biased impression, which in turn fades, then kind of freezes, then is categorized, then stored/filed somehow in the quantum-esque (a scenario not affected by Newtonian physics and/or whatnot) sort of durable but vapory, in-head, liquid(?) dimension(?). That is, if the bias of the organizing mechanism is transcendentally specific/esoteric, and not really fully understandable — and certainly doesn’t do anything like fully understand anything, why do humans prize and believe their opinions so much?
Oracle reply: Why do most humans have confident views in the face of the overwhelming reality of human fallibility? Because most people are followers — not everyone is as analytical as you. You seem more like a leader or at least an outsider. Leaders, outsiders, and followers all have different and ABSOLUTELY necessary roles. You must be in accord with this situation and understand the various parts people play. Do not delay in accepting this. Also, endurance requires flexibility.

This week we pulled The Empress. This is the energy that drives creation and accord therein. That is fertility, health, and primordial productivity and creativity! The point here is understanding that to be productive and creative you must be in correspondence and harmony with the powers that make creativity and productivity possible — start with the notion that these states are (at least in serious part) social states. Humans are not sustainable entirely from within.
Our first hexagram this week is #28, Preponderance of the Great.
Here we have an image of a dangerous situation, the load on a wooden support beam is too great. The implication is that a situation must be attended to directly or collapse will result. There is an indication, though, that timely attention can thoroughly fix the problem — do not delay. The hexagram also bears the symbolism of a strong person who, because of inner joy and resoluteness, can bear difficult times, knowing that they are temporary.
There was one change this week of which the specific note is: in times of danger, often, we are inclined towards a short term solution, that which is easiest. However, in all situations the desire should be to find what is best — which is, more often than not, accepting losses to build a kind of accessible personal serenity.
Our second hexagram is #32, Duration. “Duration is a state whose movement is not worn down by hindrances. It is not a state of rest, for mere standstill is regression. Duration is rather the self-contained and therefore self-renewing movement of an organized, firmly integrated whole, taking place in accordance with immutable laws and beginning anew at every ending.” “…independence of the superior person is not based on rigidity and immobility of character. They always keep abreast of the time and change with it. What endures is the unswerving directive, the inner law of their being, which determines all their actions.” Endurance requires flexibility.
