Roles outside of the United States
The most impactful roles, in our view, increasingly appear concentrated in the USA, because this is where the frontier companies are and where there are the strongest opportunities for regulating them. However, there are still promising opportunities located outside of the US, and this week we'd like to highlight a few of them.
Singapore and Beijing:
Remote, Global:
- Apart Research, a decentralised AI safety organisation that promotes technical AI safety by fostering a global community of researchers, is hiring for a Fellowships Lead to own Apart's fellowship programmes end-to-end, from strategy and design to execution and impact; a Special Projects Manager to own special projects end-to-end; and more.
- High Impact Professionals (HIP), a nonprofit that empowers working professionals to use their money, time, and skills to have the biggest positive impact possible, is hiring for a Director of Operations to build systems enabling HIP's growth while leading the transition to independent 501(c)(3) status, a Chief of Staff / Managing Director to scale HIP's impact, and more.
Cambridge, UK:
- ERA, a nonprofit project that provides researchers and entrepreneurs with an in-person, paid, 10-week research fellowship on AI safety in Cambridge, is hiring for a Finance Manager to build and manage ERA's financial infrastructure, establishing systems and controls as the organisation scales.
- The Institute for Law & AI, a think tank that researches and advises on the legal challenges posed by artificial intelligence, is hiring for a Director of Academic Programs / Academic Programs Manager to lead their Academic Programs team, scaling initiatives that support researchers working on law and AI.
- Meridian, a hub in Cambridge for people working on AI safety, pandemic preparedness, and other global challenges, is hiring for a Finance and Governance Officer to own day-to-day finance operations and governance.
- The Partnership for Research into Sentient Machines (PRISM), an organisation that aims to foster global collaboration on AI consciousness, promote safe and aligned AI development, and spark public dialogue about AI consciousness, is hiring for a Head of Programmes to own PRISM's fieldbuilding portfolio, leading programmes that identify talent, build expertise, and convene experts.
If any of these locations are a fit for you, consider applying!
