Dogs, exercise, family time, or a quiet moment?
Friend, parks become part of the rhythm of our lives—a morning walk, an afternoon bike ride, a family gathering, or a quiet moment beneath the trees.
Saturday, October 10, is National Walk to a Park Day, a day Trust for Public Land created to celebrate everyday connections to the outdoors.

What brings you back to your favorite park?
Whatever keeps you coming back, close-to-home parks make everyday life better. They help keep our neighborhoods healthy and connected and make them more enjoyable places to live—and everyone should have those benefits.
Yet more than 1 in 3 people in the U.S. still don’t have a quality park within a 10-minute walk from home.
Trust for Public Land is working alongside communities to close that gap.
In Dallas, for example, we used mapping tools to pinpoint where parks are needed most, then created pop-up parks with local partners so residents could experience what was possible and help shape the final park designs. Now, that community-led work is transforming vacant city-owned land into 15 new neighborhood parks, with more to come.

Here’s to all that makes parks possible.
