In September, Strapi went from v5.53 to v5.56, with changes you'll notice the first time you open the admin. Here are the highlights, or see everything that's new 👉🏻

A new Media Library

Rebuilt from scratch. Folders stay in a sidebar, uploads run in the background while you keep working, and search covers your whole library. It even works on your phone, for those "quick fix from the couch" moments. And your AI agents can now tidy up your media for you, which is more than most of us can say about our desktops.

Content types, now in folders

Fifty content types in one flat list, and a naming system only you understand? Not anymore. Group them in folders, and your editors see the same structure. It lives in your code, so it ships everywhere your project does.

Audit logs you can hand to an auditor

Export them as a CSV in one click, filtered exactly how you need. No more screenshots stitched together at 6 pm the day before the audit. And tokens, locales, webhooks and admin accounts are now tracked too.

Also shipped

• Edit Blocks fields right in live preview. Double-click a paragraph or heading in the preview and change it in place, without going back to the form.
• No more lost edits when a tab sits idle. Leave an entry open over lunch (or a very long coffee) and your unsaved changes are still there when you come back.
• No more typing lag in an admin set to another language. If your admin is in French, German or any other language, typing is instant again, even on large content types. Your keyboard and your screen are finally in sync.

Still on a version from the summer or older? No judgment. But this is a very good moment to catch up and update to Strapi 5.56.0, the latest version.
